Dear Pastor,
Praise the Lord! I am excited about being able to be at the shop a little at a time. I have been anxious to get a prayer letter out. I thank you so much for your prayers as I recuperated from four-way bypass surgery on November 30. I was recently hospitalized with inflammation in the sac around my heart. I am on medication for this and doing well at this time. I still tire very easily. It is my prayer that soon everything will be able to get back up to speed. I ask you to continue to pray for my steady improvement so that we can get back to publishing and sending out God's Word.
I have other request for prayer. My faithful side-kick, David King, has been under the weather for a few days. David had a heart valve replace approximately thirteen years ago. He has been scheduled for a stress test soon. I ask that you pray for Brother Roger Roberts, Pastor of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Bomont, WV. Brother Roger has been battling bone cancer for some time. The doctors have told him he is in the final stages. He is in desperate need of our prayers at this time. Also, please pray for our grandson, Logan. Logan has moved in with his mother in Cross Lanes. He is scheduled for hip replacement February 6 at WVU in Morgantown. He will continue to live with his mother as he receives rehabilitation. Thank you for your prayers for these folks.
David and his son, David Lee have continued to work while I am recuperating. They were able to print tracts and covers. Juanita Bird is currently working on typing a song book to be taken by missionaries Ronnie and Rebecca Starr to the Arctic Circle in the spring.
I pray that you and your family were able to have a blessed Christmas together. I am more aware of how important family time can be. We can learn and grow from whatever the Lord has in store for us. I pray that each one reading this letter has a renewed desire to work for the Lord in 2008. May God bless each of you is my prayer.
In His Service,
John H. Davis
