Dear Friends and Brethren in Christ:
I want to say thank you for your support and prayers it is truly a blessing to me and my family. As I try to follow the Lord in obedience your prayers mean the most to me and not only that they are needed. Just to fill you in on some of the stuff that is going on in the prison probably will stun you. What I am talking about is the kinds of Christian's groups they let come in to teach the Word of God. Many of you may not know that the department of correction allows groups in six days of the week. And some of those groups are not preaching and teaching the Word of God. For example I had a young man come up to me and ask can he lose his salvation. I said to him where did you come up with that idea. His response to me was that the preacher last night made that statement. There are all kinds of false teaching in our prison system today just like it is one the streets. This teaching if you can imagine would confuse a Christian on his best day if he hears it all the time over and over. I ask not only that you pray for me, but for the prisoners as well.
Many of the men that I come in contact with are trying to make a difference in their lives. It is going to take the Word of God to make that change in their lives along with some daily good solid doctrine. This means that more Bible believing people need to come and share the good news with these men. They need to hear how Jesus has provided in our lives and how we battle some of the same temptation as they do. But instead of turning to violence we turned to God to help us through our troubling times. Most of the men who come to the chapel are looking for somebody to care for them and to tell them that Jesus is still in their corner if they repent of their sins.
The door of opportunity has opened up for me on Saturday nights as well as through out the week. The Saturday night service has been going on now for three months and I am starting to see God's hand at work. New faces are starting to come out and see what the Lord has for them. I once again need your prayers as this is one of the largest attended services of the week, but there is room for more people to attend. With your prayers I know that the Lord will continue to bless you and the service as well as the men who come. I need your help in getting more people saved for the Lord.
Thank you for your prayers; May God bless you,
Eric Hill
